Johnny Swing recently gave a new meaning to the idea of having money. He constructed a whole business based on change. Different values and dimensions of coins came together to form a beautiful collection of furniture. this sofa will have you feeling glamorous and luxurious in your own home. This interior design masterpiece took a lot of time to be constructed from all those coins welded together but will be one of the most important pieces of furniture once you have it in your home. An underside steel rod support helps all the coins take the shape of a sofa. The thousands of half dollar coins let the artist play with the form that later became an amazing visual concept.

Glamour Sofa Coin
All in One Office Furniture
Business growth is great, but entrepreneurs getting started and start-ups just launching can experience space crunches due to low budgets and/or rapid expansion. This simple kid-puzzle-style solution lets you pack up and go in moments. No folding, bending, twisting or complex transforming required while you wheel your way to larger spaces with a lightweight, portable, all-in-one foam office furniture unit.
This slotted collection contains two chairs, a simple computer-sized desk, a work light and (of course) the essential basic plugins for quick internet and electrical connectivity. Tim Vinke created this with everyday needs in mind and no more; plastic wheels and foam-formed solids make this unit feel a little less precious, for those otherwise worried about bumping and bruising their new office-on-wheels.
There is no pretension to high furniture fashion in these modular pieces (or the whole they fit into) – this is pure functionality at its best. Foam is used because it is extremely light, particularly compared to the metal and wood that make up most office furniture objects. Cheap, easy to build and even easier to move, this seems like the perfect launchpad for a new business endeavor. Now for the next step: some memory foam like they use in mattresses for a little extra on the ergonomics front.

Luxurious Cupboard With Things to Hide
Carpanelli is an Italian company whose objective is to transform any living space into a contemporary interior that fits the customer’s way of being. Sillhouete is one of their most recent home products, designed for luxurious interiors and users with a passion for the industry trends. Its sinuous lines and slender overall look make it a very intriguing furniture addition. Moreover, this seemingly small cupboard (50×45x156h cm) hides plenty of available storage space. Sillhouete features shelves, niches and drawers that are not noticeable at a first glance. On the exterior the drawers are embedded with ebony and mother of pearl in order to create the lavish effect.

Etirement Lamp by French design graduate
Desgined by Rémi Bouhaniche, a French design graduate, “Etirement” is a lamp that is dimmed by distorting its surface. It features a translucent membrane stretched over a steel frame which. All you need to do is pull the rod which you see in the center in order to adjust the level of intensity. The level of the light’s intensity can be raised or lowered according to the distortion of the fabric membrane. The designer of this object, Rémi Bouhaniche, calls the temporary, changing shape of the Etirement “a poetic time from a daily action.” Etirement will be on display at the Les Ecoles de Design 2009 show at VIA France in Paris from 7 July to 23 August.

Lamp Recycling by Lula Dot
More books are printed every year, read and discarded. Even though many are taken to charity shops, they mostly go unsold and the charities have to pay for the books to be sent to landfill. For example 10,000 books a week from one charity will go to waste. There is currently no infrastructure set up to recycle the paper from books because the paper is low grade and the glue on the spine must be removed. These wasted books are used to create a beautiful chandelier. Every page is folded in half, producing a circular arrangement which hangs around a ceiling light.

Name: Anne Barrett and Todd Dundon, architects and owners of 30E Design
Location: Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts
Size: 1600 sq/ft 2 floor condo
Years lived in: 4
It wasn't long ago that we brought you into the unforgettable condo of Hannah Barrett and Laurel Sparks. We promised that we'd deliver you part 2 of this tour: the unit upstairs from Hannah and Laurel, designed and occupied by architects Anne Barrett and Todd Dundon. Anne and Todd, owners of 30e, a successful architecture and furniture design firm, infused their 2 story condo with a fabulous combination of modernity and reverence for the home's history...
When we photographed Anne and Todd's condo, we practically had to peel ourselves away because everywhere we turned there was another inspiring angle or detail we wanted to capture. (Suffice to say, it was very difficult to whittle the photos down to the 31 you'll see in the slideshow!)
Our favorite elements: The combination of dark wood floors and light, airy furnishings and decor; the ingenious screen divider made of vinyl records; the orange accent column/closet in the center of the open floor plan; the blending of vintage and modern furnishings, artwork, and decorations with the beautiful, classical elements of the condo like the crown molding and stunning staircase. Did we mention the fabulous artwork?.
So if you're looking for some dreamy inspiration, come inside to Anne and Todd's condo! (For more details about Anne and Todd's condo and the great backstory about their long distance gut renovation, check out this Boston Globe Magazine article
