on the boards: EMA Regional Offices

The Environmental Management Authority Regional Offices designed by acla:works in the Trincity Millennium Park Industrial Zone in the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago. The 2,800 m2 facility was designed with sustainability as paramount to serve as an exemplary project and was measured and guided by the new LEED (V2.2) rating system.

The € 2.8m Ville de Goussainville is a 1,200m2 multi-functioned facility designed by French architect Wilfrid Bellcour (Studio Bellcour). The portico extends from the corner of south-eastern elevation twisting to become the façade creating the allusion of a entry courtyard.

Conceived by architects Woods Bagot as a temporary solution for stalled building sites where financing has slowed building development. The proposal made from EFTE & steel creates "a quality scheme that can go in quickly, and be taken away even quicker."

The competition proposal for a new Visitor Centre in Newark, New Jersey by architectural practice Super-Interesting!. The design proposes the construction of wetlands both to enable visitors to engage with nature, as well as a bioremediation system to gauge climate change.

Danish architects Cobe, in collaboration with Sleth modernism, Polyform and Rambøll, are currently developing the largest urban transformation project in Scandinavia covering over 200 Ha. The development when complete will be powered by renewable resources and aim to reduce the city's CO2 output by 25%.

The Paris based architects Mikou Design Studio have won a competition to renovate the Théatre le Bateau Feu located along the Place du Général de Gaulle in Dunkerque, France. The ground floor of the theatre opens to the adjacent square and is clad in visually matching golden-coloured perforated metal, rising in stepped volumes.

The Xixi Wetland Art Museum is proposed for a site in a rural nature preserve just outside of Hangzhou, China. The architects Studio Pei Zhu derived the concept from the naturally occurring shelter that is created when leaves fall to the ground.

A new 47,000m2 aquatic centre is to be built along the banks of the Anning River in China. The proposal by California based architects Studio Shift seeks to re-envision the existing hydroelectric dam by creating new model for recreational tourism whilst incorporating public amenities.

A proposal by the Japanese architectural firm Riken Yamamoto & Field Shop has been selected for the Circle - a development area adjacent to the Zurich airport. The 37,000 m² crescent-shaped project upscale development complex is within walking distance of the terminals.

Bernard Tschumi Architects have designed a new master plan proposed for a heavily vegetated site just outside of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The Elliptical City project aims to merge nature and finance in a flexible landscape of buildings and gardens that can accommodate up to 30,000 people on the near 8000 acre site.
