The conscious decision to extend the component wood sticks above the height of the shelves themselves accentuates their sense of movement – they seem to be still growing beyond the main structures. In some cases, small offshoot branches are clipped away from the core and still show in the finished products.
While the bookcase designs seem rustic and recycled there is also a sense that they would fit alongside contemporary art in a gallery just as well as they would as pieces of remote cabin. All in all they are also a very sustainable design, requiring relatively little material work on top of the found objects of which they are made – and there is a strange elegance to the recycled boxes forming the shelves.

Carpanelli is an Italian company whose objective is to transform any living space into a contemporary interior that fits the customer’s way of being. Sillhouete is one of their most recent home products, designed for luxurious interiors and users with a passion for the industry trends. Its sinuous lines and slender overall look make it a very intriguing furniture addition. Moreover, this seemingly small cupboard (50×45x156h cm) hides plenty of available storage space. Sillhouete features shelves, niches and drawers that are not noticeable at a first glance. On the exterior the drawers are embedded with ebony and mother of pearl in order to create the lavish effect.

Harper & Sandilands is the company that specialize in premium wood floors and matched to them elements of decor. They are using American Oak, American Walnut, Manchurian Walnut and Larch to achieve very unique finishes and colors for their products. The company’s floor board can be utilized across a unique and stunning array of applications including ceilings, walls and cabinetry, for a look only limited by your imagination. The company is working on Australia market and in their own words they create: “Australia’s most stunning range of natural timber flooring”.

These wonderful wardrobes are a crafty combination of old and new: ornamental pieces of wood antiques rebuilt into postmodern patchwork furniture objects, at once modern and classic. Imagine: cherry, oak, pine, maple and walnut – all mixed together in a single one-of-a-kind armoire than spans generations of style. Some have sections of custom carving, others feature useful pieces of mirrors, drawers, cabinets and other elements creatively collaged on the doors and surfaces. Playfully engaging for kids, richly complex for adults and as suited to office as they are bedroom spaces, these wardrobes by RenziVivian are sure to be a hit at the Milan design fair later this month.

These rooms-in-a-box do not come cheap. Plan to pay about $10,000 for one of these convertible interior sets.
