Eggplant Solanum melangena Casper, Long Purple.
These have been moved outside to the hot house.
Planting out:
I collected yet another tub of Jerusalem Artichokes (Helianthus tuberosus) these have been planted around the Orchard Chook Run. Some along a west facing fence we are putting in to make a smaller run around the house. The aim is to add shade and give the chooks more summer protection.Cuttings/Division:
- Divided up the pot of Lime Balm Melissa officinalis 'Lime' that has started to re-sprout for spring.
- Took cuttings of Midyim Berries Austromyrtus dulcis from a healthy potted plant.
- As we trimmed the grapevines, cuttings were taken of the Ruby Seedless, Thompson's seedless and Black Sultanas.
- Cuttings taken of Loganberry and also the Bosenberry
Doc cut down the newly acquired water tanks and two have been placed under the verandah out the front. These will be turned into Wicking tank beds for salad greens and herbs.
While I was in the kitchen garden digging up the Jerusalem Artichokes I noticed the Perennial Sunflowers Helianthus maximilianii are re-sprouting.Weekly Harvest Tally:
