Fab Faux from the Faux Museum

A few weeks ago I received a nice big package at my post office and inside were a collection of "faux" art frames by the Faux Museum. These classically inspired frames are made from sturdy mat board and arrive flat. Simply fold up the sides and attach with the black tape strips provided and voila - an easy and elegant frame! They having hanging hardware on the back and also come with a small mat board easel to prop them up.

My favorite is definitely the Rustica Frame based on Northern European style of the Flemish and Dutch Renaissance trandition. The faux work is quite excellent and it really does look like a rounded wood
frame, versus just a flat piece of board.

Yes, as you can see, flat as a pancake!

Here is a closeup detail of the Florentine frame.

Currently, these pop-up frames are available at The J. Paul Getty Museum and on their website. The prices are really quite reasonable - between $9 for a 2-1/2"x3" frame and $50 for a 16"x20" frame.  A pretty nifty little giftie, I would say.
