Happy 2011!

My New Year's Eve manicure! I HAD to use my new OPI. Today is the last day I can use as much of it as I want withouth my nails looking overdone. And today absolutely needs glitters! So I added it to every nail with a dotting tool, unfortunately this picture doesn't show that properly.

A little explanation:
Thumb: pink and golden fireworks, made with a pink striper and a small dotting tool (I don't have a golden striper).
Index: made with a striper, no further explanation needed I guess.
Middle: these are oliebollen, Dutch food we traditionally eat at New Year's Eve. With icing sugar! I used a dotting tool for the oliebollen and a sponge for the white sugar.
Ring: champagne! I used Essence's great nail art pen for the glasses.
Pinky: it's almost twelve o'clock! (Well, some kindly mentioned that it's more like eleven o'clock...) Again, Essence's nail art pen helped me out.

Happy New Year!

Butterfly!

My little neighbour-girl gave me a set of tips last night. And today she played in my room and beg me to try those tips. Then i decided to create a design on tips for the first time. I asked her what she want me to paint and she answered "Butterfly". And she picked the pink colour as base colour. And this is the result :

These are what i used :

- Base coat from Pixy
PK212 from Skinfood (base colour)
- For butterfly : green from Eternally, red from Pixy, black polish, rhinestone
- Glitter from Eternally

Icy gradient

I'm into sponging lately! I really like the gradient effect. There were many things I could do to take this design to the next level (painting snowflakes, adding rhinestones, etc.), but I couldn't decide and just left it like this. It actually doesn't need more!

I used two blue colours for making a perfect gradient (OK, nearly perfect). The lightest blue, in the middle, is Essence Choose Me! (a beautiful glittery greenish blue) and is currently one of my favourite polishes. In the end I applied Essence Glisten Up! (blue flakies) all over the nail. I really recommend these two if you like the colours, they have great application and are very cheap!

Argh, I hate it that the shape of my nails aren't all alike on this picture...

Snowflakes 2.0

So here's the second version of the snowflake manicure, I used different colours but also added a silver gradient (using a sponge) on the background. I made this one on my sisters nails.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

First christmas nails

It's nearly christmas, so it's about time for some christmas nails on this blog! These nails are one of the first nail art designs I ever made, possibly even the very first! I made them for christmas a couple of years ago. I used a white striper and a silver/glitter one. It's not perfect, but I find that kinda charming for this design. I still like it!

18 December 2010

Lost idea to create the title, then i decided to pick the date of today as a title of this post. I been not feeling well since 2 days ago, my back feels hurt and tired i dont know why, might be homesick (that what my fiance said though). And yes i missing Bali very very very much!

I got new items related to nail stuff. I got rhinestone ( im not sure what the name) and some stickers. I done 2 nail art designs to my own nail and my aunty with the rhinestone.

First mani, i used base coat from Pixy, white polish for french line, glitter from Eternally, purple rhinestone, and purple from Eternally to create some dots.

Here it is :

For the second mani, i was doing my aunty's nail, she is actually my first model to practice on for another hand nails. She is glad i done her nails, so am i :). BlackBerry manicure

I got it! OPI Show It And Glow It from the Burlesque Collection! It costed €14, but it's worth every cent! After spending the afternoon shopping in Amsterdam withouth having bought a single thing, I thought I deserved this polish. I've been craving it ever since I saw a picture of it.

And I decided to do a Blackberry manicure with it:

Black·Ber·ry man·i·cure Noun  /ˈblakˌberē ˈmaniˌkyo͝or/
Manicure with the tumbs painted in a flasy color that's different from the rest of the nails, so they stand out when typing on a BlackBerry.

I have a phone from Stone Age, but it has the same effect - I almost get blinded by a blur of bling when sending a message. It's impossible to secretly send a message when in college, friends have been asking why my messages contain so many mistakes lately and I'm considering wearing sunglasses even though it's snowing here in Holland. But I love it! I even think I will be able to handle the hell that will arise when I have to take it off...

My photo doesn't show all of the awesomeness of the polish, so I'd like to refer you to pictures of others who have been succesful in capturing the glitter overdose in a picture. I love it!!

This is 2nd design of french manicure. For this one, i truly tried myself to make it :D and i used gold glitter.
Okay, so i started with base and top coat from Sally Hansen, then make a line above of the nail with gold gliiter. Then put top coat from Sally Hansen.

And for this mani, i used base coat from Pixy, 2 coats of Gold Brown from Pixy and top coat from Pixy. Its just plain polish without any art.
